About the game
Ever needed that heavy-hitting reinforcement to turn the tide of battle? That's exactly what the Minotaur brings to the world of Eldervale. This expansion isn't a full game, but rather an optional 'mercenary' you can hire to upgrade your army. Unlike common monsters, the Minotaur is a mercenary fighter who brings devastating brute force to the table.

The hiring dynamic is quite interesting: you can use either Gold or Orbs. If you pay with Gold, the Minotaur is yours only temporarily, lasting until your next Regroup action. However, if you want to ensure this colossus fights for you until the end of the game, you'll need to invest an Orb. Once hired, he goes straight to your Ready Area, waiting for the right moment to crush the competition.

The real game-changer here is the 'Charge' ability. The Minotaur doesn't just sit around; if an opponent dares to enter an adjacent Realm, he can trigger a rapid charge, rushing in just like a monster. In combat, he doesn't mess around, rolling 3 dice to ensure maximum damage. He is the perfect unit for players who love controlling the map and punishing anyone who gets too close to their territory.

Keep in mind that this content comes in its own tuckbox and includes a 50mm miniature, a standee for those who prefer it, and the corresponding game card. This was a separate item that was never included in any previous version of the game, not even the Kickstarter versions, making it an essential addition for those looking to maximize their military power in Eldervale.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need the base game to use the Minotaur?
Yes, absolutely! The Minotaur is a unit expansion and doesn't work on its own; you need Dwellings of Eldervale.
Is the Minotaur a monster?
No, he is classified as a Mercenary. While he has monster-like abilities (such as Charging), the hiring rules are different.
What is the difference between hiring with Gold or an Orb?
Gold is a temporary rental (until the next Regroup). An Orb is a lifelong contract (until the end of the game).
What's included in the box?
A 50mm miniature, a standee, and the Minotaur's game card.
Is he difficult to use?
Not at all, the mechanic is simple: you hire him as a free action and use the Charge ability when opponents move nearby.
