About the game
Omens of the Deep transports the Elder Sign cooperative dice game from museum halls to the murky Pacific depths. Investigators board the Ultima Thule and confront three awakening Ancient Ones while trying to assemble the Amulet of R'lyeh. The R'lyeh Rising mode unfolds in two stages: first, players progress along the Dark Waters track, rolling dice to overcome hazards such as the Deep One Legion and Pacific Adventure cards. In the second stage, amulet pieces are collected and assembled, allowing the team to seal the chosen Ancient One before it devours the world. The expansion adds new mission tokens that reward investigators with special powers or valuable resources, encouraging strategic choices and tight cooperation. Components include fresh dice, adventure cards, mission tokens, modular board pieces, and the amulet itself in interchangeable parts. Classic Elder Sign mechanics—dice rolling, resource management, and variable investigator powers—remain, but are enriched by a modular board that reshapes each game, boosting replayability. The game supports 1‑8 players, lasts about 90 minutes, and carries a light weight (2.8/5), making it suitable for groups who love Lovecraftian horror without a heavy rulebook. Translation still demands a lot of text, but the experience rewards fans of cosmic horror, underwater exploration, and teamwork. In short, Omens of the Deep expands the Elder Sign universe with a tense maritime adventure, fresh challenges, and plenty of opportunities to wield Elder Signs against a sub‑aquatic apocalypse.
