About the game
Prepare for a journey back 50,000 years as you take the lead of a nomadic Neanderthal clan in Engis! The challenge is to survive and thrive in a hostile world by exploring territories and developing crucial skills. The game unfolds over 8 rounds, each divided into three phases. In the first phase, you'll use your Neanderthals to explore and conquer hexagonal territories, which will integrate into your individual board, creating a unique map each game. The second phase is where the action happens: you have three main actions to perform in any order. You can move your pieces across territories, develop your survival skills, or craft essential tools and objects. In the final phase, scoring strategy comes into play. You'll choose scoring cards, reveal them, and try to optimize your gains by choosing the right moment for each. But beware! At the end of the game, nature's storms, determined at the start, arrive with full force, and navigating around them will be crucial for victory. The clan with the highest score ensures the survival of the species! Engis is a game that combines territory building, resource management, and a touch of luck with the weather, all within an engaging prehistoric theme. It's a great choice for those who enjoy games with solid strategic depth and a strong thematic experience.
