About the game

What you do in a play session

Hey gamers! If you're into the dark and adventurous vibe of Escape the Dark Castle, get ready for a HUGE upgrade to your experience with the Collector's Box! This isn't just a stylish chest to store everything (and believe me, it stores EVERYTHING: sleeved or unsleeved cards, books, tokens, even space for future expansions!), but it also comes packed with new content that will get your heart racing.

Inside, you'll find new challenges like 6 brand-new Boss Cards, each with its own treacherous maneuvers to test you. To make things worse (or better, depending on your masochism!), there are 12 Character Flaw Cards, showing how imprisonment has messed with the poor souls' minds, but who knows, maybe these flaws will be the key to their escape? And for those who enjoy a little extra suffering, 4 Death Dice make combat even more intense. Oh, and to mix up the start of your escapes, 2 New Start Cards, and to provide that epic conclusion (whatever it may be!), 2 Epilogue Cards. It doesn't stop there: there's even the 'Living Stone' Relic to give you a second chance, stylish health trackers with metal skull markers, and a dice bag to keep your dice tidy. This beauty also includes a metal 'YOU' token to track who's leading the round and 4 quick reference charts so nobody gets lost in the rules. It's the complete package for anyone wanting more excitement and organization for their Escape the Dark Castle collection!

6 questions
Do I need the base game Escape the Dark Castle to use the Collector's Box?
Yes, absolutely! The Collector's Box is an expansion and organizer, so you need the base game Escape the Dark Castle to play with the new content and use the box to store everything.
Does this box hold EVERYTHING in my collection?
Yes! It's designed to accommodate the base game, all expansions released so far, and still has reserved space for future additions. It can store cards with or without sleeves, books, tokens, everything!
What's the average playtime with this expansion?
The playtime remains similar to the base game, generally between 20 to 45 minutes per session, depending on the number of players and how quickly you make decisions.
How many people can play with the Collector's Box content?
Just like the base game, the Collector's Box is for 1 to 4 players. The cooperative experience works well with any player count.
Does the Collector's Box add a lot of complexity to the game?
The overall complexity of the game remains low (BGG weight 1.67), but the extra content, like the new bosses and flaws, adds more variety and strategic challenges without making the rules overly complicated.
