About the game
Get ready for a visual spectacle in Festival, where the world's great cities compete to create the most dazzling festival, culminating in a breathtaking fireworks ceremony! In this abstract strategy and puzzle game, your goal is to assemble the most impressive fireworks display on your personal tableau, ensuring the highest score. You'll work with two stacks of fireworks tiles, each featuring four distinct colors and four designs, shared among players. In the center of the table, you'll find four stacks of objective cards and some 'crowd-pleaser' tiles that are worth points for everyone. On your turn, the move is simple yet full of decisions: take a tile from the top of either stack and place it on your 3x3 grid, either at ground level or stacking it on an existing tile. Alternatively, if you prefer to focus on bonuses, you can take an objective card and add it to your play area. At the end of your turn, check if you've fulfilled any personal objectives or any of the available 'crowd-pleasers'. Each completed objective is moved to a scoring area. The game concludes when a player completes six objectives or one of the fireworks tile stacks runs out. Final scoring goes beyond objectives and crowd-pleasers: your board has a 'target' color and firework type. Each tile matching this color or type at the top of a stack on your board is worth points equal to the number of tiles in that stack. If a tile matches both the target color AND type, it scores double! Do you have what it takes to light up the sky and emerge victorious?
