How to Play Flamme Rouge: Meteo

Game Objective

In Flamme Rouge: Meteo, players take on the role of cyclists competing in a race filled with challenging weather conditions. The goal is to be the first to cross the finish line, overcoming not only opponents but also the adverse weather conditions that affect cyclists' performance.

Setup

To set up the game, follow these steps:

1. Assemble the race track according to the base game instructions.
2. Shuffle the Weather Tiles face down.
3. Place one Weather Tile face up on each straight section of the track, except the first (start) and last (finish line).
4. Replace each Weather Tile (except "Mild Weather") with the corresponding Weather Scenarios, placing them along each straight section.
5. Remove the Weather Tiles from the game, as they are no longer needed.

Game Flow

The game follows the basic flow of Flamme Rouge, with the addition of Weather Scenario effects. Each round consists of:

• Players select and play their Energy cards.
• Cyclists move according to the value of the played cards, applying the effects of Weather Scenarios as needed.
• Resolve any Crashes or blockages caused by weather conditions.

Actions and How to Play

Each Weather Scenario has a unique effect on cyclists in the straight section where it is placed:

• Crosswind: Prevents cyclists in the straight section from gaining or granting the Slipstream effect.
• Tailwind: Cyclists starting their movement in the straight section draw five Energy cards instead of four.
• Headwind: Cyclists starting their movement in the straight section draw three Energy cards instead of four.
• Wet Surface: Cyclists ending their movement in the straight section who lose movement due to blockages suffer a Crash.

End of Game and Scoring

The game ends when a cyclist crosses the finish line. The first cyclist to do so is the winner. There is no additional scoring; victory is determined solely by the order of arrival.

Tips for Winning

• Plan your moves based on Weather Scenarios to maximize the use of favorable conditions, such as Tailwind.
• Avoid ending movement in straight sections with Wet Surface to prevent Crashes.
• Use blocking and positioning strategies to hinder opponents' progress in adverse conditions, such as Headwind.
