About the game
In Florenza, you step into the shoes of a leader from one of Renaissance Florence's most influential families, aiming to become the city's most renowned patron of the arts. Your mission is to hire the most celebrated artists of the era and finance their masterpieces. Each player can commission artworks in their own district, within the imposing Cathedral, or in important civic buildings. For these works to come to life, money and resources are essential. To acquire them, you'll dispatch your workers to various workshops, potentially even placing them in your rivals' districts, in a fierce competition for spaces. Additionally, you can gain more workers by offering charity to the church. Throughout the game, prestige is primarily earned by completing artworks. While these prestige points can be spent during the game, they will be the primary source of victory points at the end, determining who truly stood out in the Florentine art scene. A really cool detail is that all characters and buildings in the game are based on real historical figures and workshops from Renaissance Florence, including famous artworks. The designers made sure to maintain authenticity, even using original Italian names for the constructions, for an even deeper immersion into the golden age of Italian art and culture.
