Fort: Cats & Dogs Expansion adds two fresh layers of fun to the beloved Fort base game: a dog module and a cat module, which can be played separately or together at the group's discretion. Each animal comes with its own personality. Dogs are loyal but demand that you meet their needs; ignore them and they wander off from the doghouse. At game end, the player with the most dogs safely in their doghouse scores seven points. Cats, on the other hand, are fickle: they act at specific times, move around a lot, and can be drawn to a player whose yard contains cards of certain suits, even if the current owner also has those cards. The more cats you retain by the end, the more points you earn. The expansion preserves the Deck, Bag, and Pool Building mechanic, letting you choose which cards to stock for your animal roster, while Hand Management stays vital for deciding when to satisfy pet demands or strategically let them slip away. The Follow mechanic kicks in when a cat changes owners, forcing the new owner to react. Playtime ranges from 20 to 40 minutes for 2‑4 players, and the low complexity (weight 2.6) keeps it approachable for beginners and fans of the core game alike.
