Hey, football fans (and non-fans alike)! How about a board game that puts you right in the middle of a soccer field, but with all the strategic depth we love in board games? Futboard is exactly that: a tactical soccer simulation for two players, promising 45 minutes of pure excitement and crucial decisions. Forget the frantic pace of a real field and get ready to meticulously plan every move like a true coach!
In Futboard, you and your opponent control teams with legendary players, each boasting unique abilities. The objective is simple: score more goals than your adversary. The board is divided into spaces, and each turn, you have three actions to spend. This could involve moving a player, dribbling, or making a pass using a special ruler – yes, just like in war games, to add that tactical flair! Better players, naturally, can make longer passes.
And when it's time to shoot for goal? It's pure adrenaline! You consider your striker's skill and the distance to the goal. The further away, the greater the challenge. Subtract the distance penalty, roll a D12 die, and hope to roll the target number or less. If you succeed, it's a GOAL! The game ends when time (45 minutes) runs out, or if you prefer, the first to score 2 goals takes the win. It's easy to learn, but the strategic depth will surprise you, ensuring every match is unique and full of twists.
