About the game

What you do in a play session

Geek Out! Pop Culture Party is a party game that pits everyone against each other to find out who truly masters pop culture. Each round starts with a player drawing a card that asks for a list – for example, “name five TV series from the 2000s” or “list four rock bands from the 80s.” Before answering, the other players can jump in with bids: anyone who thinks they can name more items than the card requires raises the stakes. Bidding continues until no one wants to outbid the last offer, and then the player who made the highest bid tries to fulfill the list. If they succeed, they claim the card as a point; if they fail, they lose the turn and the points stay up for someone else to try. The goal is to collect a preset number of cards, usually adjusted for the available time and group size. With simple components – a colorful deck of cards, a sheet for noting bids, and a few dice for tie‑breakers – the game runs fast, about 20 minutes, and supports 2 to 99 players, making it perfect for parties, friend gatherings, or family game nights. The auction mechanic adds tension and gives less confident players a chance to snatch victory, while dice rolling only appears in tie‑break situations, keeping the focus on memory and creativity. Although it requires a good grasp of the language the cards are printed in (English), the game works well with bilingual groups or ad‑hoc translations. In the end, the player who ends up with the biggest stack of cards can brag about being the ultimate "geek" at the table, but the real reward is the collective laughter that erupts with each odd list and daring bid.
