About the game

What you do in a play session

Get ready for a wild ride into language creation! In Gibberers, you and your crew become primitive humans who stumble upon aliens (or another tribe with a completely different language). The mission? To create a new language from scratch so you can communicate and, who knows, develop civilization together. It's like field linguistics, but with more caves and less suits!

The game kicks off with language creation, where one player takes on the role of 'Mentor' and guides the others in building vocabulary using cards and drawings. After this initial, super creative phase, things get serious (but fun!). You'll play over several generations, and communication will be restricted solely to the new language you've created. Imagine the challenge and the laughs this will bring!

There are two ways to play: a quicker one with simplified rules that takes about an hour, and the 'expert' version, which extends the experience to up to 3 hours, with more rounds and even greater challenges. The ultimate goal is to guess a secret word in the invented language. If you succeed, the tribe wins! Scoring also takes into account the civilization's development. It's a cooperative game that tests your creativity, deduction skills, and adaptability. Get your pencils and paper ready, because language evolution starts now!
