About the game
Gloom: Unquiet Dead brings three new features that make your grim family even more chaotic. First, Story cards let any family claim special perks, but the contest lasts only until someone knocks the card down. Next, the Undead add seven modifiers that turn characters into vampires, mummies, ghosts, and other bizarre creatures; they remain alive enough to receive effects but still count toward the final score. Finally, Timing Symbols change how effects play out: instant, ongoing, and persistent, adding strategic nuance. The game keeps the hand‑management and family‑point mechanics, but now you must plan not only what to play but also when and on whom. Dark humor stays intact, but the new cards raise the moderate complexity. If you already own base Gloom, this expansion is a boost that deepens the narrative and offers more sabotage and twist options. The components are simple: 55 translucent cards, new story cards, and timing symbols. Playtime stays about 60 minutes, with 2 to 4 players. In short, Unquiet Dead elevates the Gloom experience to a deeper, more fun level while preserving the grim charm fans love.
