About the game

What you do in a play session

Pack your bags and grab your passport because Hellboy is heading to Mexico! This expansion transports players into one of the most iconic comic book arcs, bringing all that mystical and dangerous vibe right to your table. If you're already a fan of the base game, this addition is essential to upgrade your experience, expanding exploration and combat possibilities.

What's inside the box? First, the visuals: the expansion features stunning miniatures, including Hellboy in his Luchador version (Mexican wrestler style) and three more Luchadors to round out the team. But it's not just about looks; you'll have to face the fearsome Camazotz, the final boss, along with a horde of 15 minions split into five different types, making battles much more dynamic and challenging.

On the gameplay side, the expansion injects new decks that ramp up the tension. You get the Case file deck, Encounter deck, Requisition deck, and, of course, the dreaded 'Deck of Doom!', ensuring that luck isn't the only thing you'll need to survive. Additionally, new modular board tiles expand the map, creating new paths and mysteries to uncover.

Since it's a cooperative game, coordination between players is everything. You'll need to leverage each character's unique abilities to survive ambushes and take down creatures. Dice rolling remains the heart of the action, providing that thrill of suspense with every attack. It's the perfect blend of dungeon crawling and the gothic, surrealist atmosphere of Mike Mignola's world. Just a heads-up: since there's a significant amount of text on the cards, if you're not fluent in the original language, you'll definitely need a translation to avoid getting lost in the adventure!
