Grab your gear, hero, because the village of Tenefyr is under siege! Imagine a bastion of light nestled in a valley surrounded by darkness and countless eerie creatures. But the dungeons lurking in the mountains aren't the only threat; something far more sinister is plotting a direct assault on the village. That's where you and your crew come in.
Heroes of Tenefyr is a fully cooperative deck-building game designed for 1 to 4 players. You aren't fighting each other; you're fighting to survive together. Each player steps into the shoes of a hero who, while starting out somewhat inexperienced, possesses a unique signature skill that can turn the tide of battle. As you brave the dungeons and slay monsters, you'll stumble upon incredible loot. These treasures aren't just for show—they become cards added directly to your deck, making your hero progressively more formidable.
The combat mechanics are straightforward and engaging, blending tactical decisions with the nail-biting tension of 'push your luck' elements. But watch out: your deck is literally your life force! If you run out of cards, your hero becomes exhausted and must retreat to the village to rest, potentially leaving your teammates vulnerable. And don't get too comfortable after clearing a dungeon; every time the heroes return to Tenefyr, time marches on. Time is your greatest adversary. Depending on your chosen difficulty, the clock ticks until the big boss emerges for the final showdown. Defeat the boss, and everyone celebrates; fail, and Tenefyr falls into darkness. It's a race against time and destiny itself!
