High Five is a two-player word challenge that takes place on a board with star-shaped holes. Each player starts with a hand of 10 letters and must create a 5‑letter word that starts and ends on the star points. After playing, the hand is replenished to 10 letters, keeping the pace of play. Only 5‑letter words can be placed on the star, except when a player extends an existing word to create a 9‑letter term by adding letters at the beginning or end of the original word. Scoring includes small bonuses: if the word contains a repeated letter, the player earns 2 extra points; if the word can be read backward and still makes sense, there are 5 extra points. The second player can use letters from their hand or remove letters from the first player’s word to form their own word. The mechanic demands attention to vocabulary, letter placement, and blocking strategy, as each move can limit the opponent’s options. The game is suitable for players aged 11 or older, requiring a solid command of language and quick thinking. A typical game lasts between 15 and 30 minutes, depending on player speed. High Five blends the fun of a word game with the tension of a strategic duel, making it ideal for couples, friends, or families who want to test their brains in a competitive and enjoyable setting.
