About the game
What you do in a play session
Ever imagined relaxing in the Shire, with a cold mug of beer in hand, swapping tales with your buddies at your favorite inn? That's exactly the vibe of Hobbit Tales from the Green Dragon Inn. Here, you and your friends take on the role of Hobbits who love storytelling, but these aren't just any stories: we're talking about epic adventures involving Elves, Goblins, Giants, and remote mountains, all while blowing smoke-rings and soaking in the cozy atmosphere of the tavern.
The dynamics are engaging and highly creative. Each round, one player becomes the Narrator and must improvise a plot using the illustrated cards in their hand. But don't think it's a walk in the park! The other players act as 'instigators', playing hazard cards and fearsome monsters to complicate the protagonist's life and see if the narrator can handle the pressure. It's a game of improvisation, where the ability to connect images and create twists is what earns you the cheers of the crowd.
The game was designed by Marco Maggi and Francesco Nepitello, the same award-winning duo behind hits like War of the Ring and The One Ring RPG, so the fidelity to Tolkien's universe is absolute. Inside the box, you'll find a board, 75 adventure cards, 40 hazard cards, themed coasters, and a special twelve-sided die (The One Ring Feat die). A very cool detail is that the game includes rules to be used as a supplement for those who already play The One Ring RPG, serving as a great tool for worldbuilding or a break between campaign sessions. If you love Middle-earth and enjoy letting your imagination run wild without the rigidity of a massive rulebook, this is the game for you.
