About the game
What you do in a play session
Get ready for a spooky adventure in Horror House, a 1986 game that pits you and 1 to 3 friends against escaping a monster-filled house! The mission is clear: survive and get out. To do this, you'll spin the wheel to move around the house and face over 45 creatures eager to terrify you. Each encounter is decided by an electronic test: inserting a sword into holes in the electronic 'death head.' The outcome can be a demonic scream, a sinister monster laugh, or the sound of clashing swords. Essentially, it's an electronic die with sound effects! The Bandai version came with priest player tokens and a cross to place in the demon, while the GT version swapped priests for knights and the cross for a sword. It's a fun game with interesting components for younger players, somewhat reminiscent of Talisman in its luck factor and visuals. Ludopedia adds a narrative layer about an old man named Caiben, who fled a demonic cult and is now haunted by the demon seeking a new host in his farmhouse, adding a touch of horror storytelling to the experience.
