About the game
What you do in a play session
Get ready to dive deep into the career of a hostage negotiator with Hostage Negotiator: Career! This expansion isn't for the faint of heart, as it throws you into a ten-year journey through your character's life, where every decision matters. To play, you'll need the base game Hostage Negotiator, the Crime Wave expansion, and a few Abductor Packs.
In each 'year' of your career, you'll face an event card that can impact your professional and personal life. Then, brace yourself for the call: a new hostage crisis! The twist is that the outcome of each negotiation directly affects your career progression. You'll need to keep a close eye on your stress levels (both professional and personal), your merit (which can lead to promotions!), and your overall rank.
At the end of each year, a personal card awaits you, presenting another narrative event to resolve. Depending on how you performed in the negotiation, consequences will follow: rewards or reprimands. It's a game that challenges you to balance your work life with your personal life, all while dealing with high-pressure situations. If you enjoy games that tell stories, put you in tense situations, and make you think about every move, this expansion is a perfect fit!
