About the game
What you do in a play session
In HUND, canine cleverness is put to the test in a night of tricks and strategy. Each game starts with a five-suit deck—different from a standard 52-card deck—and a second number deck that sets dynamic rules as the round progresses. The game unfolds over five tricks, but the real twist comes when the first 3 card is played: the suit of that card becomesably trumps for the rest of the round, instantly changing who can win the trick. But that’s not all. Each time a 3 appears, it redefines a specific scoring: the second 3 decides which suit is worth +1 point per card; the third 3 sets the “hund,” where those who have neither too many nor too few of that suit earn 3 points; the fourth 3 makes another suit worth -1 point; and the fifth 3, already known when the fourth 3 is played, lets the player who collects the most of these cards choose who starts the next round. These elements make HUND a trick-taking game with layers of strategy that shift each round, forcing players to adapt quickly to new rules. Components are simple: five-suit cards and color markers to remember which suit is trump and which suits carry point values. The game lasts about 45 minutes, ideal for 2‑to‑5 players looking for something light yet strategically deep. If you enjoy card games that challenge memory, attention to detail, and the ability to anticipate opponents’ moves, HUND is a fun and surprising choice. The traditional trick-taking mechanics gain a twist of unpredictability that keeps everyone on edge, while the canine theme adds extra charm that appeals to all audiences.
