About the game

What you do in a play session

Kemet: Blood and Sand – Sand Worm brings a new monster to the Egyptian desert: the Sand Worm, a creature that can turn the tide of battles by moving between board areas. The expansion includes five level‑3 Power Tiles—Sandworm, Omniscience, Night Ceremony, Tactical Reinforcement, and Dark Knowledge—that randomly replace the Domination Power Tiles of each color, offering fresh tactics for control and advantage. Each player receives a set of power cards that, when played, alter the dynamics of area influence, allowing bolder attack strategies or stronger defenses. The game retains Kemet’s core pillars: action points that limit each turn’s options, area movement that requires spatial planning, majority control of areas, and hand management that forces critical decisions. Open drafting lets players choose cards from a public pool, increasing interaction and unpredictability. In terms of experience, the Sand Worm adds strategic depth and a surprise layer that can be decisive in 90‑120 minute games with 2 to 5 players. The expansion is ideal for those who master the base and want an extra challenge, though it requires translated cards or access to localized versions. As part of the Kickstarter Edition, it comes bundled with the base game, but those buying separately must ensure they have the original components to set up the game. In short, Sand Worm offers more variety, new power mechanics, and a fresh sense of threat that keeps the desert ever‑moving.
