Keyflower: Trader is the expansion that brings a new village tile to the beloved Keyflower, the worker‑placement and city‑building game that has won fans since 2014. If you already know that in Keyflower you place workers on the board, gather resources, buy skill cards, and, of course, try to collect keyples (the green tokens that score points), Trader upgrades that process. The highlight of the expansion is the new village tile that lets you trade a skill card for a green keyple – or, if you want to be bold, pay one gold and receive two keyples. The tile can also be “upgraded” by paying more gold, and at the end of the game it’s worth an extra three points. The goal stays the same: build the most prosperous city, but now with more trade options and a little investment challenge.
The expansion doesn’t introduce new mechanics; it simply expands the map and adds the ability to trade cards for keyples, keeping the resource balance and player interaction intact. The board stays modular, meaning each game can have a different layout, and building routes remains essential to connect the villages. Pick‑up and delivery of resources is still at the heart of the game, as players must plan efficient routes to bring resources to the right spots.
For those already familiar with Keyflower, Trader is a fun way to refresh the experience, offering new strategic choices without steepening the learning curve. If you enjoy games with resource management, worker placement, and city building, this expansion will fit right in. And the best part: purchasing a copy of Trader is tied to a social cause – a portion of the proceeds goes to the East Sheen Chengannur Trust, helping people in need in Kerala, India. So you can have fun and make a difference at the same time.
