Imagine you and your friends as 'Seekers', heroes sworn to protect the city of Din’Lux and rebuild a shattered world. In Kinfire Chronicles: Night's Fall, you brave the Starless Nights, fighting off shadowy creatures with the help of magical kinfire lanterns. This is an epic cooperative campaign featuring over 15 missions, where every choice you make shapes the narrative and opens (or closes) future paths. It's not the kind of game where a single failure means 'game over'; if you miss an objective, the story persists, but the consequences will haunt you later in the campaign.
Each quest is split into three phases: Adventuring, Battle, and Exploration. During Adventuring, the group makes choices based on quest cards and attempts to overcome challenges (like crossing a river) by flipping the correct colors and quantities of cards from their decks. In the Battle phase, things get intense: you use a physical battle map to fight enemies whose actions are determined by tokens drawn from a 'destiny bag'. The interaction is the highlight here: you use action cards to deal damage, but can also play boost cards to save a teammate, reduce damage, or even force an enemy to redraw their token.
In the Exploration phase, you return to the city to chat with NPCs, purchase gear, and upgrade your decks. There's a cool twist: each character has their own moral compass. Acting according to your hero's personality earns you Kinfire tokens to level up faster. However, ultimately, the decisions are yours. Will you spare an enemy's life or settle things with the blade? It's a long, immersive journey that requires the group to be in total sync to survive the darkness.

Is the game hard to learn?
It has medium complexity. If you've played deck-builders or RPGs before, you'll pick it up very quickly.
How long does each session take?
Each mission takes about 45 to 60 minutes, but keep in mind it's a long campaign with over 15 missions.
Can I play it solo?
Yes! The game has solid solitaire rules, allowing you to experience the adventure on your own.
Is it very text-heavy?
Yes, quite a bit. Since the story is the heart of the game, you'll need a translation if you aren't fluent in the original language.
How does defeat work?
You don't 'lose' the game immediately. Failing missions or objectives doesn't end the campaign, but it creates consequences that affect future choices.
