Actions and How to Play
Costumes
- Costumes are played as Constant cards and can be bought at the end of your turn.
- There is no limit to the number of Costumes you can use at the same time.
- They can also be stolen: If a Monster ends its rolls with at least 3 Faces for dices (King of Tokyo) (2 types of dice, black dice and green dice), it can steal Costumes from any affected Monster. To do so, it must pay the energy cost of the Costume to the Monster being stolen from. It is possible to steal as many Costumes at once as the Energies allow. Stealing Costumes does not cancel damage – you still deal damage normally.
Evolution Cards
- If a Monster ends its rolls with at least 3 Faces for dices (King of Tokyo) (2 types of dice, black dice and green dice), it draws the first Evolution from its deck and keeps it secret.
- Hearts do not need to be used to recover health, and a player can use hearts to buy an Evolution even if they are in Tokyo. The card does not replace healing; it is in addition to healing, which occurs normally.
- If you run out of Evolution cards, a roll of 3 Faces for dices (King of Tokyo) (2 types of dice, black dice and green dice) will do nothing special.
- Monsters must keep their Evolutions secret until they want to play them – which can happen at any time.
- There are three types of Evolution:
- Temporary Evolution: Is discarded after being played.
- Permanent Evolution: Remains in play after being revealed.
- Gift Evolution: After being revealed, when the Monster that has the Evolution card deals damage to another Monster, it can pass these cards to the attacked Monster. These cards remain in play as a Permanent Evolution. The Monster that put the card into play will always be the OWNER of this card. The monster that has the card in front of it is the monster that HAS the card. The owner of a Gift Evolution is always the one who puts it into play, and its effect affects the Monster that possesses it, provided it is not its owner.
- Power cards that refer to "cards" in the base game never apply to Evolutions.
