About the game
What you do in a play session
Lacuna is a sleek two‑player duel set on a moonlit pond where the goal is to collect as many flowers as possible. The game unfolds on a cloth mat that serves as the board, making setup a matter of seconds. Each player controls a pawn and, on their turn, selects two flowers, imagines a line between them, and places the pawn on that invisible line. Once the pawn is placed, both flowers are harvested for points. The twist lies in zone of control: positioning your pawn creates an area that blocks the opponent from using certain flower pairs on their next move. The match becomes a puzzle of anticipation, as you try to block your rival's best combos while opening up options for yourself. A single round lasts only 10‑15 minutes, and the learning curve is virtually nonexistent thanks to the straightforward rules and the visually appealing fabric board. Components include rulers for precise alignment, tubes for storing markers, and links to GettingGames tutorial videos for those who crave extra guidance. Lacuna blends abstract strategy with a delicate flower theme, delivering a light‑hearted yet tactically rich showdown perfect for anyone looking for a quick, smart game.
