About the game
What you do in a play session
Amid the splendor of the Emerald Empire, the Crane Clan shines through its elegance and diplomacy. This expansion, "Masters of the Court: Crane Clan Pack," adds 78 new cards—twenty‑five types in triplicate and three unique cards—that reinforce the clan's identity. The cards introduce fresh tools such as a Stronghold that puts dueling front and centre, events that curb the opponent's options, and courtiers that dominate the courts of Rokugan. The base game remains a fantasy Living Card Game where each player controls a samurai clan and spends action points to move units, play hand cards, and trigger secret abilities. Deck, bag and pool building lets you assemble your deck during play, while hand management forces strategic timing of each card. Variable player powers reflect each clan's quirks; for the Crane, this translates into legal and diplomatic maneuvers that can block foes or open dueling opportunities. Secret unit deployment adds suspense, as troops can be revealed at the perfect moment to surprise the rival. A typical game lasts 45‑90 minutes, perfect for two players who enjoy tactical duels set in a samurai world. If you love card games that blend deep strategy, rich theme, and diplomatic interaction, this pack will refine your experience.
