Get ready for one of Marvel's most epic sagas in Legendary: A Marvel Deck Building Game – Secret Wars, Volume 1! This substantial expansion brings the chaos of Secret Wars to your tabletop, where dimensions collide and Earth's fate hangs in the balance. Unlike other expansions, cooperation here can be a double-edged sword, as players can work together or even oppose each other to survive the various Battleworlds and prevent (or cause!) the destruction of our planet.
Featuring 14 new Heroes, including iconic figures like Black Panther, Doctor Strange, Namor, Miles Morales, Captain Marvel, and Old Man Logan, the expansion broadens the roster of playable characters, introducing members of the Illuminati and the Cabal. Additionally, you'll face 6 new Villain groups, 5 new Masterminds, and 8 new Schemes that promise to turn the game upside down. For the first time in the Legendary series, one player can even take on the role of the Mastermind, adding an unprecedented layer of 'one versus many' confrontation and strategy.
Battleworld scenarios are varied and challenging, with domains such as Apocalypse, Monster Metropolis, The Deadlands, Limbo, and The Wastelands, each with its unique characteristics. The story is rich: the Illuminati desperately try to prevent parallel dimensions from colliding, while the Cabal has a much darker plan: to destroy other dimensions with antimatter bombs to save their own. Which side will you choose in this secret war for the multiverse?

Do I need the Legendary base game to play Secret Wars, Volume 1?
Yes, absolutely! This is an expansion and, as such, requires the Legendary: A Marvel Deck Building Game base game to be played. It adds content and rules, but it is not a standalone game.
What is the main new feature of this expansion compared to previous ones?
The big star here is the introduction of the 'Playable Mastermind' mode, where one player can take on the role of the main villain against the other players. This adds a 'one versus many' dynamic never before seen in the series!
How many players can participate and what is the average game duration?
Legendary: Secret Wars, Volume 1 supports 1 to 5 players. Game time usually ranges between 30 and 60 minutes, depending on the number of players and the complexity of the chosen scenario.
What is the complexity level of this expansion?
With a BGG weight of 2.65/5, it is considered medium complexity. While the basic rules are easy to pick up, the new mechanics, Masterminds, and Schemes add strategic layers that require a bit more thought.
Does the expansion have high language dependency?
Yes, the language dependency is quite high. The cards contain a lot of descriptive text and rules, so it is essential that players have a good command of English or that the group uses a translation to fully enjoy the experience.
Which main heroes and villains appear in this expansion?
You'll find heroes like Black Panther, Doctor Strange, Namor, Miles Morales, Captain Marvel, and Old Man Logan, as well as villain groups and Masterminds that directly reference Marvel's Secret Wars saga, bringing the Illuminati and the Cabal to the center of the action.
