The Living Forest is under attack! The fearsome Onibi has invaded the Circle of Spirits and threatens the Sacred Tree with its flames. But fear not, as the Kodama, beings of light sent by Sanki, arrive to give that extra boost to the Spirits of Nature. In this expansion, you take on the role of one of these spirits and rely on the Kodama's help to save the forest.
The main new feature is the "Call a Kodama" action. Using flowers from your Help Line, Forest, or even victory tiles, you can purchase one Kodama card per turn and add it to your deck. These cards provide items and, most importantly, Kodama symbols. With these symbols visible in your play area, you can collect Fragment or Element tiles, or even perform an extra basic action! And for those who like to speed up the end of the game, emptying a Kodama pile increases the victory condition from 13 to 15 points, giving opponents a good run for their money.
Furthermore, the expansion introduces new Level 2 and 3 Guardian Animals, offering more powerful abilities, and six brand-new types of Kodama-related Protective Trees. Oh, and there's more: each time you buy a Kodama, Onibi advances on the Circle of Spirits, adding Fire tiles and increasing the tension. To top it off, a challenging solo mode awaits you!
Kodama brings more strategy and options to Living Forest, with new ways to optimize your deck and accelerate your scoring, without neglecting the growing tension of Onibi's threat. It's a worthwhile addition for fans of the base game seeking more depth and variety.
