About the game

What you do in a play session

Get ready to expand your horizons in Lords of Hellas with this package that brings two brand-new adventures: "Atlas Overload" and "The Garden of the Hesperides." If you enjoy the base game, this expansion is a treat for those seeking more strategy and challenges. In the "Atlas Overload" mode, the game gains an incredible sense of urgency. Forget the traditional win condition; here, time is the enemy! A 'weight' track on Atlas's shoulder increases as new elements appear on the board. When the weight reaches its limit, a countdown begins. If it hits zero before you find a solution, everyone loses! It's a race against the clock that completely changes the game's dynamics. Meanwhile, in "The Garden of the Hesperides," you'll deal with a very special monument. Atlas comes pre-built and can accommodate up to six soldiers (instead of priests). By sacrificing these soldiers, you collect the coveted Golden Apples. These apples are a valuable resource that can be instantly traded for powerful bonuses, such as healing your hero, saving a soldier, or boosting your army in battles. The 120mm Atlas miniature is a showstopper, serving as a unique monument and a focal point for both expansions. This expansion adds depth and new ways to play, ensuring every game is a fresh and exciting experience. Perfect for those who have already mastered the base game and are looking for an extra challenge with intriguing mechanics and high-quality components.

6 questions
Do I need the base game Lords of Hellas to play this expansion?
Yes, absolutely! This is an expansion, so you need to own the base game Lords of Hellas to use the components and rules for 'Atlas Overload' and 'The Garden of Hesperides'.
How many players can participate with this expansion?
The expansion maintains the player count of the base game, which is 1 to 4 players. Rules may have specific adjustments for different player counts in some modes.
Does the game's complexity increase significantly with this expansion?
Yes, the complexity increases slightly. 'Atlas Overload' adds a loss condition and a race-against-time element, while 'The Garden of Hesperides' introduces a new resource and sacrifice mechanics. A good grasp of the base game is required.
What are the main new components included in the box?
The expansion includes the impressive Atlas miniature (120mm), Golden Apple tokens, a weight tracker, a double-sided board with the new setups, and other pieces necessary for the game modes.
Is this expansion for players who have already played Lords of Hellas extensively?
Exactly! It's ideal for players who have mastered the base game and are looking for new ways to play, different challenges, and more strategic depth. It adds variety and replayability.
