About the game
What you do in a play session
Love Letter: Adventure Time transports the sleek mechanics of the original Love Letter into the whimsical world of Finn, Jake, and Princess Bubblegum. A single round lasts about 20 minutes and supports 2‑4 players, making it perfect for a quick meetup or a casual game night finale. At the start, each player draws one card while another card is removed from the deck. On a turn you draw a second card, then discard one of the two, using the discarded card’s ability to try to eliminate opponents. The last player standing or the one holding the highest‑value card when the deck runs out earns a heart token. The required number of tokens to win scales with player count.
The artwork is a playful “cosplay”: Adventure Time characters don the costumes of the Tempest edition’s love‑letter figures. Two new rules spice things up. First, playing a Hero (Finn or Jake) and forcing another player (even yourself) to discard the other Hero instantly wins the round, celebrating the iconic duo’s reunion. Second, if you win a round while holding a “companion” card, you receive two tokens instead of one, speeding up the race for hearts.
With a BGG weight of 1.1, the game is ultra‑light: simple rules, minimal components (cards, tokens, and a drawstring bag), and high replayability thanks to the blend of deduction, bluffing, and luck. It’s a great pick for fans of fast card games, Adventure Time humor, or anyone looking for a portable, easy‑to‑learn tabletop experience.
