About the game
What you do in a play session
Get ready to expand the battlefield in Mage Wars with the Conquest of Kumanjaro – Spell Tome expansion! This time, the conflict takes place in the land of the Johktari, where southern tribes have thrived for centuries but now face invasion by the forces of Westlock. With this expansion, you'll step into the shoes of two new, powerful mages: the Priestess of the Order of Malakai or the Johktari Beastmaster. The Beastmaster embodies ferocity and pride, a natural hunter defending her people tooth and nail. She's a skilled archer with a range bonus on her ranged attacks and can sprint like a cheetah for rapid repositioning. And if an enemy is wounded, beware, as she has a special ability to relentlessly hunt injured prey with her animal companions. On the other side stands the Priest of Malakai, a crusader against non-believers. He seeks divine justice, and his basic attacks deal light damage. But watch out, once per round, if he damages an enemy with light damage, the target might burst into flames! Completing his divine might is his Holy Avenger ability, ensuring divine retribution is swift. The expansion also introduces creatures with the 'Intercept' ability, ready to defend their mage at any cost by jumping in front of ranged attacks. To spice things up further, new conditions like Bleed, Stuck, and Tainted arrive to complicate your opponents' lives. It's an addition that brings more variety and tactical depth for those who already enjoy the magical combat of Mage Wars.
