About the game
What you do in a play session
Mage Wars: Druid vs. Necromancer brings two fresh faces to the already epic wizard duel. Instead of sticking to the core card mechanics, the expansion introduces two new mages, each with a playstyle that swings from “slowly grow and win” to “summon endless hordes”. The Druid, a master of Nature, uses plants that sprout instantly on the board, healing allies and hurling water showers that can be as destructive as a frost spell. She sidesteps traditional spawn points, letting her flora erupt across the arena, forcing the opponent to move or be crushed by growth. The Necromancer is the shadow terror: he summons fragile skeletons that reassemble from bones, slow zombies that are nearly impossible to kill, and evil spirits that spread plagues. His theme is relentless assault, pushing the opponent to react before being overwhelmed. Dice rolling, grid movement, simultaneous action selection, and variable player powers keep every game unpredictable and packed with tactical decisions. The game lasts about 90 minutes, is for two players, and blends cards, dice, tokens, and a battle board that feels like a fantasy battlefield. If you love card duels with a tactical twist and want to try two distinct power approaches, this expansion will have you glued to the board!
