About the game
What you do in a play session
Wall of Force Promo Card is a promotional card players receive as a reward for participating in Mage Wars Organized Play. The card represents a force wall that costs 5 mana to conjure, has 3 health points, and is incorporeal, meaning it cannot be targeted by attacks that require physical contact. The card is highly versatile because it can be reinforced during the Upkeep phase: you simply pay additional mana to remove damage already taken, making it almost immune to the Finite Life effect that normally limits the regeneration of wall cards.
In terms of mechanics, the Wall of Force fits perfectly into Mage Wars’ Area Majority / Influence system. When the wall is in play, players compete for control of the area around it; whoever has more influence cards in that space earns victory points. Additionally, the reinforcement action occurs simultaneously with other action choices thanks to the Simultaneous Action Selection mechanic, adding an extra layer of tension: you don’t know if your opponent will also reinforce their wall at the same time. The card also benefits from Dice Rolling, as the mana cost can be adjusted based on dice results, allowing you to plan long‑term strategies based on probabilities.
For newcomers, the Wall of Force Promo Card is a great example of how promotions can introduce new concepts without overloading the learning curve. It doesn’t replace the core cards, but it complements decks focused on area control and defense. If you enjoy fantasy card games with direct combat and want to explore new ways to protect your territory, this card will give you an interesting edge.

Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers before you buy
How long does a game last with this card?
A typical Mage Wars game lasts about 90 minutes. Adding the Wall of Force Promo Card doesn’t significantly change the length, as it operates within the same game flow.
How many players is it suitable for?
Mage Wars is designed exclusively for two players, so the card works only in that format.
What is the game complexity?
The complexity remains medium. You still manage mana, control areas, and choose simultaneous actions, but the card adds a strategic layer without overcomplicating things.
What components are included?
The card itself, a damage marker (if you use one), and any 6‑sided dice already part of the base game. No extra components are needed.
Who is this card for?
Ideal for players who enjoy area control and defense, and who want to experiment with wall‑reinforcement mechanics in wizard duels.
How does the Upkeep phase work?
During Upkeep, before each turn, each player may pay mana to reinforce their walls, removing damage. The Wall of Force allows this action, and the cost is 1 mana per point of damage removed.
