About the game
Mansions of Madness: Second Edition – Beyond the Threshold is the first expansion for this cooperative horror universe that pushes the limits of what you already know. You’ll meet two new investigators, each with unique powers that change how you play, and a even more sinister creature that stalks the mansions. The expansion adds new cards, new scenarios, and a bunch of extra components such as monster miniatures and modular board tiles that shift the layout every game. All of this gives you more investigative options, more terror encounters, and more strategic choices. The game stays cooperative, but now there are more variables: characters can use different abilities, the board changes, and dice play a big role in combat. If you love Lovecraftian stories, cult hunting, and want more challenges, this expansion will keep you even more hooked. Just remember: the game gets trickier and takes a bit more time per session, so plan ahead before calling your crew.

Like the base edition, the expansion does not require a new app but uses the same digital interface that manages data and cards. You can still play solo, but encounters become more intense. The fun is in the blend of narrative, miniatures, and mechanics like area‑movement, hand‑management, and combat resolution. If you’re already stuck in the first edition, this expansion is the adrenaline‑boost you’ve been waiting for.

In summary, Beyond the Threshold expands Mansions of Madness toward more terror, more characters, and more challenges, while keeping the claustrophobic atmosphere that makes the game so special.
