About the game
The Atlas Expansion delivers a flood of new content to Mare Nostrum: Empires, turning the game into a true global strategy arena. With five distinct modules, you can add up to six players, expanding the board by 50% and receiving an Atlas hero, eight legions, five triremes, five fortresses, seven control markers, five leadership markers, nine resources, a forum board, a player screen, and five new heroes. The three Legendary Cities modules each add six heroes and wonders, plus three objectives and fifteen events that shift campaign dynamics. Troy focuses on the military aspect, Syracuse on the economy, and Jerusalem introduces a divine dimension. All modules are freely combinable, allowing you to mix themes and challenges. The Punic Wars module opens the game to two players, adding a Barbarian faction as a neutral force controlled by both players in a Rome‑Carthage war. The expansion preserves the area‑influence, dice‑rolling, set‑collection, trading, and variable player powers mechanics while introducing new miniatures and a larger map, demanding more space and attention to detail. It’s perfect for fans of diplomacy, epic battles, and an extra dose of strategic complexity.
