Mini Express puts you and up to four friends (or just yourself) in the shoes of a railroad magnate in the Old West. Each player manages four different railway companies, all racing to complete the legendary transcontinental line. On your turn you have only two choices: lay track for one of the companies by placing cube‑trains on adjacent hexes and claiming cities, or buy shares of a company. Expanding a network gives you influence over the cargo type demanded by that city – each company has its own colour and matching cargo. A city can host 1‑3 companies; once the limit is reached the demand tile is removed, making further expansion harder. Whenever you place a cube on a hex, every other company already present there gains an extra cube in its reservoir, representing the profit they reap from your work. Buying a share costs influence: you may only take a share if you can lower your influence in that company by an amount equal to the cubes remaining in its reservoir. The game ends when two companies run out of cubes or when all shares of two companies have been taken. Each share is worth points multiplied by a factor based on your relative influence in that company; the more presence you have, the more valuable the shares. At the end, the player with the highest total – combining shares and influence – becomes the rail baron. A typical play lasts 30‑45 minutes, has light rules (weight 2.3), and works great solo or with a group, offering high replayability thanks to variable set‑up and the choice between network expansion and stock manipulation.
