About the game
What you do in a play session
Get your spellbook ready, because the dragons are back and they aren't here to play! In Mysticana: Curse of Dragons, you step into the shoes of a mage fighting to protect the realm from an invasion of ancient creatures hungry for treasure. The stakes are high: you must banish three of the five unique dragons before they plunder all your wealth. To succeed, you'll need to arrange specific sets of cards on the battlefields that match each dragon's unique banishment requirements. It's a game of precision and constant risk management.
Each turn, you face a critical decision: draw a new card to bolster your hand or deploy one to the battlefield. However, deploying isn't free; you must discard cards that match or exceed the value of the card you're playing, requiring careful resource planning. Deployed cards trigger immediate elemental effects, and you can unlock even greater abilities by holding groups of the same element in your hand. But don't get too greedy: the 'Dragon's Curse' is always watching. If the total value of the cards in your hand reaches 15, the dragons steal cards for their hoard. If their hoard hits 15, it's game over!
This title serves as an expansion for the Mysticana ecosystem, which utilizes a 'Foundation Deck' system. This means it relies on a highly versatile 18-card deck featuring an elemental 'rock-paper-scissors' hierarchy, allowing new games to integrate seamlessly into the existing collection. It is a fast-paced, strategic, and intense solo experience, perfect for gamers looking for a deep challenge that fits right in their pocket.
