About the game

What you do in a play session

Mysticana: Harbingers introduces three ominous harbingers that herald the looming crises. As a powerful seer, you harness mystic visions to brace against escalating perils. This expansion adds six double‑sided cards – Harbingers on the front and Visions on the back – to the Mysticana base deck, supporting solo or two‑player cooperative play. Each game uses three Harbingers and three Visions; Harbingers sit above the timeline, imposing extra restrictions on certain perils, while Visions grant one‑time effects that aid the player. The challenge ramps up over three rounds, with more Harbingers entering play each phase. Winning all three rounds is the victory condition. In cooperative mode, players strategize together without revealing their cards, selecting a participant to play each turn. The base deck, consisting of 18 cards across three suits with a rock‑paper‑scissors hierarchy, provides a flexible framework that lets new variations slot in seamlessly. Mysticana: Harbingers preserves the series’ dark fantasy vibe and hand‑management mechanic that makes it so engaging, while adding a new layer of strategy with double‑sided cards and a secret cooperative mode.
