How to Play Paleo: The Terror Birds

Objective of the Game

In this module, you have entered uncharted territory and discovered some strange big eggs. Your mission is to find these eggs before the Terror Birds hatch and cause unsuspected mischief. You must complete your mission before the birds hatch.

Setup

In addition to the standard setup of the Paleo base game, follow these steps for this module:

• Mission Card K: Place the Mission card K according to the module requirements.
• Terror Bird Stack: Shuffle the 7 cards from this module (which have forest, river, and mountain backs) and place them in a stack. These are the Terror Bird cards.
• Dice: Prepare 2 dice.
• Secret Card 9: Prepare Secret Card 9.

Actions and How to Play

When playing this module, keep the following rules in mind regarding card interactions and resources:

• Revealing Terror Birds: You may only reveal or discard the Terror Bird cards through special card actions. You must always take the topmost card from the stack.
• Egg Looting: If you receive an egg as loot, you put the card you just completed face up with your group. This card is then considered an egg.
• Destroying Eggs: When you destroy an egg, you put one of your eggs on the cemetery.
• Resource Cost: When you encounter the new symbol, you must hand over one of your tool tokens (you can decide which one).
