How to Play Piratas!: Mares Agitados

Game Objective

In Pirates! - Rough Seas, players take on the role of pirates seeking treasure while facing challenges from other pirates and the threats of a stormy sea. The goal is to accumulate treasures and outmaneuver opponents to become the most successful pirate.

Setup

Since this is an expansion for the Pirates! base game, the original game is required to play. Refer to the manual for details on this section.

Game Flow

The game follows the flow of the original Pirates! game, with the addition of new Event cards. Whenever an event is purchased, it is activated immediately and affects all players. The player who bought the event gains an additional action.

Actions and How to Play

The new cards introduced in this expansion offer fresh actions and effects:

• Diver: Allows taking any card from the discard pile.
• Explosives: Look at the top three cards of the deck, choose one for yourself, and give the other two to two different players.
• Noble Pirate: Counts as a treasure when in play. Cannot be targeted by the Man Overboard card.
• Trap Chest: A treasure that doesn't count as treasure but can be used to counter a raid.
• Half Treasure: A treasure that only counts when paired.
• Surprise Attack: Counts as a shot and can be used after duel cards are revealed.
• Kraken: An event card that affects all players immediately.
