About the game
What you do in a play session
If you already enjoyed the chaos of Piratas!, get ready because the seas have become much rougher! Rough Seas is the first expansion for the game and arrives to inject more adrenaline, strategy, and, of course, plenty of conflict between players. The goal here is simple: make the experience more interactive and unpredictable, turning the 3rd edition's dynamics into something even more dynamic.
What changes in practice? The expansion brings new Treasure cards and instant effect cards that can change the course of the game in the blink of an eye. But the real stars are the Crew cards, which don't just provide support but can also count as precious treasures, adding an extra layer of planning for those aiming for victory.
The biggest novelty, however, is the introduction of Events. Imagine that, out of nowhere, something happens in the ocean and everyone feels the impact. That's exactly it: when an event card appears, the effect is applied to every single player without exception. The most terrifying example is the Kraken, the first creature of this type. When this monster emerges, tension rises, and each player must make a tough choice: take damage to their ship or lose a crew member. It's that 'who's going to suffer more?' moment that generates the best laughs and arguments at the table.
Whether through new combos or unexpected attacks, Rough Seas transforms sailing into a game of cat and mouse where luck and cunning go hand in hand. It's the ideal expansion for those who found the base game too calm and want to see their friendships tested while fighting for the title of the true king of the seas. Prepare your ship, recruit your crew, and try to survive the Kraken!

Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers before you buy
Do I need the base game to play?
Yes! This is an expansion, so you need Piratas! (3rd edition) to use this new content.
Does it make the game much more complex?
Not really. It adds new options and the event mechanic, but keeps the casual and fun essence of the original.
What exactly does the Kraken do?
It's an Event. When it appears, it forces each player to choose between taking 1 damage to their ship or discarding a crew card.
How many players is it for?
It follows the base game's line, working great for 2 to 6 players.
How long does a game take with the expansion?
It remains a fast game, typically lasting between 15 to 20 minutes, ideal for those who want dynamic sessions.
