About the game
What you do in a play session
Polynesia is a light strategy game where you lead a tribe fleeing an about-to-erupt volcano. Your goal? Sail the Pacific, discover safe islands, and rescue as many people as possible. Each round has two phases: in the action phase, you choose between exploring new routes, fishing for resources, or moving your tribe to strategic islands. In the maintenance phase, the volcano might blow — and those left behind are in trouble. The game blends sea route building, resource collection (fish and shells), and some negotiation with other tribes. Tide cards provide variable objectives, ensuring each game feels fresh. Plays 2-4 in about an hour, with the Mo'orea expansion adding a 5th player. Perfect for fans of exploration-themed games without too much complexity.
