Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers before you buy

6 questions

Do I need the base Power Grid game to use this expansion?

Absolutely! This is an expansion, so you need to own the base Power Grid or Power Grid Deluxe game to play with the new cards and rules.

How many players can participate with this expansion?

The expansion maintains the base game's flexibility, supporting 2 to 6 players. For two players, there's even a special 'Against the Trust' rule that adds an extra dynamic.

What is the Fable Game system?

It's the main new feature! Essentially, these are cards you reveal during the game when certain conditions are met. They introduce new rules or modify existing ones, making each game more unpredictable and exciting.

Are the campaigns long?

Each campaign consists of three consecutive games. So, you can think of them as a Power Grid mini-series, where each game builds on the last and the rules evolve.

Does the expansion significantly change the original Power Grid rules?

It adds new rules through the Fabled Cards, which can significantly alter strategy. However, the core mechanics of power plant auctions and network building remain, just with a new flavor.

Who is this expansion best suited for?

It's perfect for players who already know and enjoy Power Grid and want to try something different without straying too far from the original game. If you enjoy strategic challenges with a touch of surprise, you'll love it.
