About the game

What you do in a play session

The *Architects of Magic* expansion shakes up the already chaotic gameplay of *Professor Evil and the Citadel of Time*. It adds two fresh heroes – Lloyd Right, the field engineer, and Morgane Cardini, the lab sorceress – each bringing a unique power that meshes nicely with the characters you already know. There’s no forced combo: mix and match these talents as you like, crafting new strategies every session.

A key new element is the Professor's "Possessions" – treasure tiles representing his prized personal artifacts. Rescuing a possession gives the team a handy boost; if the Professor secures it first, the game clock speeds up, adding tension. Time Portals also appear whenever the Professor stops in a room, letting him jump back in time and repeat his turn, making him an even more unpredictable foe.

Action Points still drive decision‑making: each turn you allocate points to move, attack, use abilities, or interact with treasures. Area movement preserves the feeling of exploring the castle, while dice rolling adds that lucky (or unlucky) twist that can flip the outcome in an instant. Since the game is cooperative, communication is vital – you must coordinate who uses which power and when to gamble on a portal.

For 2‑4 players, a match runs 30‑45 minutes, and the complexity stays light (weight 2/5), perfect for players who enjoy tactical depth without drowning in rules. If you liked the base game, you’ll love the extra strategic layer and the sense of truly battling a time‑bending Professor Evil. Ready your lab, set your action points, and good luck – the clock waits for no one!
