About the game
Imagine building a pyramid where every move can be the foundation of your victory or the stepping stone for your opponent's triumph. In Pylos, the objective is simple, but the execution is pure strategy: the player who places the final sphere on the peak of the pyramid wins. But don't think it's just about stacking! The game starts on a 4x4 board, and the ascent happens as players form squares of spheres. Once four spheres form a square, they create a platform for a new sphere to be placed on top, building the next level.

The master stroke lies in the management of your 15 spheres. If you manage to complete a square using only your own colors, you earn an incredible bonus: you can retrieve up to two of your spheres from the board (as long as they aren't supporting anything) and put them back into your reserve. This is vital because if you run out of spheres while the pyramid is still growing, you lose the chance to deliver the final blow. When you complete a mixed square (with different colors), you can 'stack' one of your pieces, moving it upward without spending a sphere from your reserve.

The game is a constant exercise in spatial perception and anticipation. You want to climb the pyramid, but you don't want to do it too quickly and end up handing the peak to your opponent on a silver platter. There are even variants to adjust the difficulty: a simplified version for children (removing the square bonuses) and an expert version, where creating lines of the same color also allows you to recover pieces. It's the kind of game that feels intuitive at first but reveals layers of tactical depth with every match. Perfect for those who enjoy a fast, elegant, and visually satisfying cerebral duel.
