About the game
What you do in a play session
Imagine being the last survivor of a band of heroes on a desperate quest to save your village from a demonic onslaught. In Ragemore, this grim medieval atmosphere is condensed into just 18 cards, creating a solo experience that is intense, fast-paced, and brutal. The game is an exercise in resource and risk management, where every decision can mean either victory or the definitive death of your hero.
The core dynamic revolves around double-sided cards: one side represents a demon and the other a hero. You start with a small party of heroes and face immediate threats drawn from the deck. If you defeat a demon, it becomes a new ally, flipping to the hero side and strengthening your party. But what if you can't—or choose not to—fight? The demon migrates to the quest piles, triggering negative events that further complicate your journey.
The game also allows you to 'parlay' with these creatures, but this comes at a heavy moral cost: to turn a demon into a hero through a pact, you must sacrifice the morality of one of your allies, who flips to the demon side and returns to the threat deck. To win, you must complete quests by using specific symbol combinations found on the cards. However, the road to glory is riddled with traps. There are five different ways to lose, including accumulating too many deaths in the graveyard, overfilling the quest piles with demons, or losing your entire party. It is a pure survival game where efficiency in hand management is the only thing separating eternal peace from total failure. With games lasting between 10 and 15 minutes, it's the perfect choice for a quick break when you want a mental challenge with considerable strategic weight.
