About the game
What you do in a play session
Get ready for a rural challenge in Railroad Tiles: Countryside Expansion! If you thought the base game was a breeze, think again. This expansion introduces a layer of complexity that will really make you scratch your head. The main goal is to create massive pastures by gathering as many animals of the same type as possible. But pay attention: things work differently here. The animal pawns you get are tied to a specific column of tiles during the draft, and they don't go on routes like other components. Instead, they need to be placed in barns that appear on the new field tiles. These tiles can also feature fences, which are crucial for separating your pastures. Watch out for villages and towns, as they also act as barriers for pastures. Scoring is a delicate ballet: you get 1 point per animal, plus 1 for each identical animal in the same pasture, up to a maximum of 5 points. But if you place more than one animal of the same type in the same pasture, it's penalty time! Each extra animal beyond the first costs you a point and is removed. Objective tiles, like the Vineyard and the Hills, add another strategic spice, requiring you to plan your fields and animals with precision. This expansion is a treat for those who enjoy a bit more thinking and want to add an extra layer of strategy to Railroad Tiles.
