In 2049, Earth is a very different place. Two years prior, aliens harvested most of humanity, leaving behind only those deemed unsuitable. This power vacuum has allowed secret societies and factions to emerge, vying for control of the new world. While Earth itself remains largely undamaged, it's now a much emptier planet. The mysterious 'angels' responsible for the harvest are determined to complete their extraterrestrial mission and cleanse the planet of remaining humans. It's into this post-apocalyptic, yet intact, world that Rapture descends! This is an action-packed skirmish wargame that's also beginner-friendly. Players choose from unique factions, each with distinct characteristics and playstyles, engaging in asymmetrical missions. Assemble your battlegroups with heroes, squads, and bands, aiming to achieve your individual objectives or thwart your opponent's. Victory can be achieved through victory points, even if your entire battlegroup is eliminated! The game unfolds over six rounds on a 90x90 cm board, typically lasting 60-120 minutes. Each player leads a battlegroup, usually comprising 3-5 units with a total point value of 100. To keep things fresh, alternative game modes like 'SPLAT!', where you mark terrain with your color, or 'Catch the Shard', involving capturing an alien artifact, are available. The rich narrative, diverse factions, and dynamic gameplay with quick, strategic interactions ensure an exciting experience. While accessible to newcomers, the strategic depth grows with experience, promising thrilling battles from start to finish.
