Grab your flashlight and check your ammo because you've just entered the most dangerous mansion in the world! Resident Evil Deck Building Game brings the tension of the video games to the tabletop, putting you in control of icons like Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine in a desperate fight against hordes of infected. The heart of the game is deck building: you start with very basic items, but as you progress, you must scavenge for powerful weapons, ammunition, and healing items to avoid becoming zombie food.
The experience is split into three modes that completely change the vibe of the match. In Story Mode, it's a race against time and other players to snag the best gear and escape the mansion first. In Mercenary Mode, the focus shifts to aggression; the player who takes down the most zombies in the shortest time wins, with the option to play in teams. If you prefer total chaos, Versus Mode removes the monsters entirely and pits the characters against each other in a battle for dominance.
With a deck of 250 cards, the game offers hundreds of scenarios, ensuring that no two games are ever the same. The strategy revolves around how you use your ammo—which serves both to power your weapons and to purchase new cards—and how you manage your action cards to optimize your turn. The ultimate goal is to collect the most decorations by defeating creatures, but be warned: the game only ends when the strongest infected creature is killed. Do you have the instincts needed to survive the outbreak, or will you just become another zombie in the hallway?

Is the game hard to learn?
The complexity is moderate (2.27). If you've played a deckbuilder before, you'll get it quickly. Otherwise, the rules are intuitive but require attention to the different modes.
Can I play it solo?
Yes, the game includes solitaire rules, allowing you to face the mansion's horror on your own.
How long does a game last?
Matches are quick, usually around 30 minutes, which is great for those who want to play multiple rounds.
Do I need to know the game's story to play?
It's not mandatory, but it helps with immersion. The game works as a combat and strategy system independent of the deep lore.
What's inside the box?
The game comes with 250 cards and the rulebook. It's a compact, card-focused game.
What is the main difference between the modes?
Story is the classic survival experience; Mercenary focuses on kill counts; Versus is pure PvP between characters.
