About the game
What you do in a play session
Herb Garden and Pen are two micro‑expansions released at Essen Spiel 2017 for Robinson Crusoe: Adventures on the Cursed Island. Each adds a new tile that, once triggered by a successful gather action, becomes part of the camp and provides a permanent benefit. In Herb Garden, after gathering from any island tile you place a black marker that moves forward each production phase; when it reaches the end, the herbs are grown and heal one wound. Pen works similarly but requires gathering an animal resource. When both spaces on Pen receive black markers, your animals start breeding, producing one food each production phase until the game ends. Both tiles are easy to remember, need minimal text, and fit seamlessly into the cooperative, worker placement, dice rolling, and variable player powers mechanics of the base game. They expand the survival strategy by offering automatic healing and food generation, easing pressure during critical moments. Since they count as part of the camp, they don’t interfere with exploration or overall balance, but they give the group more long‑term planning options. Perfect for groups that have mastered the core game and want a little extra variety without overwhelming complexity.
