About the game

What you do in a play session

Ruination: Blood Sworn arrives as the second expansion for the acclaimed Ruination, adding even more chaos to the post‑post‑apocalyptic setting. Each of the four hordes now gets two new elements: a chieftain with exclusive tactical abilities and a horde deck filled with one‑use, asymmetrical cards that pack a huge punch. These chieftains can be upgraded during the game, letting you fine‑tune your strategy as battles unfold. The expansion also introduces updated nomad rules, complete with new tokens and event cards that vary each play, plus a glory die that spices up the glory track. A new Defense statistic helps mitigate troop losses, and alternate exile cards give more penalty options. Action decks have been completely overhauled, offering unique cards that synergize with chieftain upgrades and introduce even more powerful advancements. In short, Blood Sworn deepens Ruination’s strategic layers, delivering more tactical choices, greater horde asymmetry, and extra replayability thanks to variable events and new tech paths. If you love territory building, exploration, and wargames and already know the base game, this expansion will take your experience to the next level.
